I can’t seem to transcribe ideas I have into words on paper. Is there something I can do to help me?

Script Writing Tips
Testament asked:

It isn’t a matter of vocabulary or grammar. Its more or less about not being able to formulate the pictures and ideas I have in my head into words.

I’m an extremely visual person. Thoughts come to me as pictures without internal narrative. I just ‘see’ it. So, whenever I try to write about what I see for various reasons (novel, game design document, script, etc.) the words fail to come. I can see the image vividly but whenever I DO make an attempt at describing it, it seems shallow and boring, nothing as epic as it comes to me.

I’d greatly appreciate any tips or sources that assist writers. I don’t think its writer’s block because its not a lack of idea, but just an inability to formulate the ideas to words.

Thanks in advance to anyone whom offers help!
Everyone has been wonderful and I love each and every response, so I’m unable to pick a best answer. Thus, I’m putting it up to a vote. But no matter who gets the best answer, I’ve taken all answers to consideration and am now working on a method derived from all the input so that I can spill those creative ideas into something tangible. Thank you all again!

How to learn south indian languages?

Shivan S asked:

I am a Tamil. I can only speak a small amount of Tamil, but I can write most or all the characters and understand the sounds and variances in how to pronounce them. I feel ashamed that I am Tamil and I can’t speak my mother tongue. I live in New Zealand and I was born in this country as well. My native language is English. I am 15 years old.

My question is, how can I learn Tamil (Sri Lankan or Indian derivatives) in the easiest way? I am also interested in the other 3 south Indian languages (also I am interested in Sinhala, I want to learn these too, but I shouldn’t get to jumpy. I understand that these languages are closely related and that they are derived from Dravidian – and the written script is derived from Brahimi.

Anyone have any tips? Thanks in advance.

where can i sell my stories, poems and script ideas?

Script Writing Tips
James W asked:

I live in England, and have Millions (not millions) of film ideas and have started writing a few of them out, I am not dedicated to any of them though and flit between them all, i would like to sell some of my babies so i can:
a) focus on fewer script ideas
b) have money so i can dedicate more of my day writing scripts, novels etc.

I have many novel ideas too but have been focusing on my film ideas because i feel there is more money in films, No one pays to go and see a book, do they? (I am sure that there are famous books that people pay to see, please do not correct me on this unless your ego demands it). I basically want to make my bucks then do it purely for the art of it. I have written lots of short stories and poems to sell too and am finding short story websites rubbish im afraid to say, would a publisher buy short stories or poems or collections of either or would me being a complete unknown be far too risky for them? I am totally ignorant of selling my work so any tips hither or thither would be fantastic, but mostly i want to know, who will buy my roses? thanks in advance to any useful tip bringers to my question of many branches.
NB. this is not an example of my finest work.
