What story line do you think would be good with these titles?
Butterflies & Autumn Heart.
My sister and I used to make mini-books for our barbies and give them titles, lol. I found some the other day and these were the titles. I thought about what a cool plot could have been. What do you think? Any plot ideas you think of. But please try to keep them simple enough to have as a short story. By ‘short’ I mean several thousand words at most. Thanks!

How do you sustain inspiration for a short story?
I am currently writing several short stories, but I can’t seem to sustain the level o fcreativity needed to let the story flow thru on the screen. After I get started for 10 min, I’m flustered–ideas don’t come to me, and I just lose steam. And I’ve been doing this for quite a while; I’ve had experience with this, I’ve just never done anything about it.

How do you go about getting a short story published?
I have a completed short story, and I was wondering where I might go to see about having it published in a magazine or collection of stories.
The story is horror, with occult overtones. Similar to Cosmic Horror, only a bit more down to Earth.

What do you call the type of story explaining the origin of animal characteristics?
I just read a short story called “The Elephant Child”. It was about how elephants of a long time ago had short noses. Until one elephant had his nose pulled by a crocidile which gave him a long truck. Then all elephants went to get their noses pulled. What do you call this type of story?

What is the name of a short story about a roach that is found in a peach?
I read a short story years ago about a little girl who is spending a day with her father and finds a roach (or some other type of insect) in a piece of fruit, possibly a peach. She is told by the father that the insect has a name, and the father tells her to treat the insect kindly. The name of the story is the name the man gives the insect, I think, and I seem to remember it was originally French. Has anyone heard of this story?

What is the name of the short story about a husband who hangs Christmas lights for his dying wife?
The sick wife wants her husband to hang Christmas lights because she loves the glow. The husband goes out to buy lights, but when he returns, his wife has already died. He proceeds to hang them anyway, and is in partial denial about her death. The story may take place in Russia, and it is a story within a story, as the husband is telling the story of the Christmas lights to someone else.
