Filming tips, on a screenplay, ANGLES, LIGHTING, ECT?
Hey! I am in 10th grade and currently writing, directing, and producing a short film. It will range between 25-30 minutes. I have the script completed and am looking forward to filming this baby, but need some help.
I want this thing to look as professional as I can make it. I have some video editing software, it isn’t Final Cut Pro, but it gets special effects and the like done.
I was wondering if anyone had any sites or tips that they would advise me to follow when filming this. I’ve already looked around on the internet and read a lot of good advice I wouldn’t have thought of, such as using external mics, headphones in the camcorder, and 3 pt lighting. I’m pretty much a noob when it comes to this filiming.
Any advice for this thing would be appreciated. The script, I think, came out great. I’ve gotten some advice from friends, and I reworked it so it’s a real thriller. There will be a foot chase/ car chase

What do you think of this Short Film Plot/Script ?
This is my first time ive written a script and so im asking you to tell me if its good and maybe give me a few tips.
Keep in mind that we little resources and we are a group of three people.
And also i would like you to tell me some sad songs i could play in the film, i gonna choose Schindler’s List Soundtrack
Film stars with the hearing of the speech Gen. Macarthur gave at the ending of World War 2.
In the first 10 seconds of the speech, the screen is going to be completely black so we could on hear the speech, then we see an American soldier sitting next to a desk, (the desk has a radio, paperwork, books, etc) listening to the speech from the radio.
When the speech end the soldier switches to another channel and sad music starts to play, he then takes a moment to think and then he starts searching for 3 old letters, these letters are from his best friend who has also been a soldier and had been killed during the war, he had sent him these letter before he got killed.
When he finds them he starts reading them, (we were going to zoom on the letters and show some lines from the letters describing the cruelty of war). He then folds them and puts them back. Then he takes another moment to think and looks at a blank paper.
He grabs a pen and the paper a starts to write, shortly after the writing starts, we can hear the soldier narrating what he is writing (he is going to be narrating a poem he wrote for his fellow soldier). When he finishes he angrily throws the paper outside a window.
Then we see the crumbled paper on a thin narrow road all alone. Then we see a man who decides to pick the paper up. (We were going to show only the feet of this person). During all this the narrating of the poem will still go on.
In the next scene we see the soldier next to the desk again signing and filling some paperwork, next to him there is the daily newspaper. While he is doing his paperwork he notices and sees that somehow his poem had gotten on the front page of the newspaper.
Then he grabs, and then the camera is going to scroll down on the poem and view the final lines of the poem. Then the narrating stops exactly when the camera zooms on the end of the poem where it says “anonymous”).
END

im writing a script for a short film, and i would like some feedback on the opening?
the story is about a samurai during the 1800s after the Meiji restoration (after a violent civil war) reflecting on his past as he walks down a forest where certain events in the plot took place. after the ban of swords and samurai, he became an unknown legend. this is all irrelevant right now as all i need is some feedback on the opening narration. this is spoken as a camera pans around a forest showing the beauty of life and nature.
“every man has a secret. a poison streaming through their vains. this poison, kills them little by little, day by day. to some, however, they embrace this pain. some say, its what causes a man to a slow death. others say, however, that its this pain, that their life and soul feeds off of, to live just one more day, one more hour, even. its been said that this pain echos from the past, grasping you from years away. to this very day, only a few men have felt this kind of pain. and of those few men, only a few allow the words carried by this pain to be heard.”

Any ideas for a possible screenplay I could write in High School?
I am in 10th grade and am currently taking English class. As an optional project we are allowed to write a screenplay and shoot a short film. I am interested in this, since I have always wanted to pursue this sort of thing.
I have some ideas already of what the premise of the movie will be, but just want to hear a few more. I would appreciate any responses.
Also, obviously we don’t have the money or time for CGI and fancy special effects for an awesome blockbuster movie…But any tips on shooting this movie or writing the script would be greatly appreciated.
PS
I am a big fan of Shyamalan’s work and love movies with a twist at the end.
