How To Build Selling Skills In Minutes’

What do children and sales consultants have in common? Ask them to play and theyll jump in. Tap into this natural ability and youll unlock the secret to whiteboard presenting.

In more organizations and small businesses, sales professionals and subject matter experts are turning to whiteboards. Presenting at the whiteboard is a flexible way to sell ideas, simplify solutions and connect with clients.

Lets look closely at how to build your skills. Use these tips to for successful selling at the whiteboardin minutes not weeks.

Playing

A playful attitude is at the heart of creativity. Yet, as we get involved in working, and strive for greater achievements, its all too easy to forget about the power of play.

Beware of becoming overly serious about presenting at the whiteboard. If you have forgotten about the quality of play, you could be in serious danger. Watch out for these danger signs. If you experience them, seek help immediately:

Not writing or drawing anything on the whiteboard for fear of making a mistake.
Critiquing your sketches and belittling your efforts.
Apologizing for anything you do.
Erasing your sketches before anyone can see them.
Creating realistic renderings that take forever.

If you or anyone on your team is experiencing these, consider checking into a Presentation Rehab program right away. Youll find inspiration and practical tips to say, Enough! to the habit of getting overly serious about your whiteboard presentations.

Now, lets be clear. There are specific structures, standards and ways to be effective at the whiteboard. What were focusing on here is that a playful attitude towards experimenting is going to take you a lot furthermuch faster.

Inventing
Great ideas spring willingness to experiment. When youre starting out at whiteboard presenting, this can be a big challenge. Its very different than presenting with a script and a ready-made slide deck.

The trick to inventing is to have a master plan. Using a distinct set of interactive questions, information layouts and facilitation techniques, youll learn the ropes. As you do, youll look and feel increasingly comfortable.

Youll know how to manage the flow. Get comfortable with the flow of ideas, discussion, questioning, and problem solving with your audience. Practice inventing on the spot by rehearsing your skills with a presentation coach, and with your team.

Using a distinct set of skills, youll invent interactive ways to show your value proposition, highlight benefits, address objections, and guide the conversation.

If youve been used to delivering scripted presentations and using a clicker to guide flow, there is a lot to learn. The faster your build your skills, the better youll be at the whiteboard in front of your important client.

Showing Ideas On The Spot

What happens when you sketch out ideas while the audience watches? People get instantly engaged. Its altogether different than presenting a finished poster, infographic or brochure. And its radically different than relying on a PowerPoint slide.

Encouraging real time interaction is dynamic, fresh and lively. It unlocks quality conversations and builds rapport. Plus its the most flexible way to structure a conversation.

You can respond on the spot to individual questions, overcome objections, and trouble shoot to streamline decision-making. Drawing out simple sketches is the fastest way to help non-experts and experts speak a common language.

In addition, if English is your second language, visual sketching is a universal language. If you feel that your verbal skills in English are lacking, make up the difference with visual sketches. Many of my clients find this is a fantastic way to engage clients, teams and superiors in important conversations.

When you look at these benefits, you cant afford to be left out of the loop. Jump into the wonderful world of interactive selling with whiteboard presenting. Youll never look back.

Prospecting Tips: The Basics Of Getting Ready

I’ll confess right up front that the vast majority of the content of this post is not original. I recently went through some extensive training on prospecting offered by one of my favorite trainers in the network marketing industry, Todd Falcone. I spent hours soaking up every juicy bit of wisdom he had to offer and I’d like to share just a little of it with you.

I’m going to talk about the very basics of getting yourself prepared to start making phone calls. Some of this stuff is so basic in fact that at first it might seem too inconsequential to even write an article about. But if I’ve learned one thing on my own journey to network marketing success it’s that if you miss the basics, you’ll never master the more advanced strategies.

You need to make certain that you have several things ready before you ever sit down to make that first call:

Prospecting Tips #1) Pens – regular and “Sharpies” – Notice that I said pens in the plural. Have several within arm’s reach at all times.

Prospecting Tips #2) Highlighters – You want to be able to highlight any really hot prospect you talk to so you won’t miss following up later.

Prospecting Tips #3) Legal writing pads – Have 1 specifically for taking notes while prospecting

Prospecting Tips #4) Land-line Telephone – cordless and wired – Cell phones are very common these days, but they can cause a lot of trouble when you’re prospecting: dead batteries, lost signal, etc. A land-line phone is much more reliable. A cordless phone will give you the freedom to move around and a wired back up will rescue you if the battery dies or there’s a power outage.

Prospecting Tips #5) Telephone headsets (more than 1) – You never know what can happen to one when you’re in the middle of a call. Keep an extra nearby.

Prospecting Tips #6) Cork board – to hold important information you’ll need at a glance such as your key information sheet and an area code map.

Prospecting Tips #7) Prospecting Log – for people going through your information pipeline. If you come across someone who sounds really good, put them on the log so you can keep track of their progress.

Prospecting Tips #8) 3 way calling – so you can conference in important people in your upline to help support you.

Prospecting Tips #9) Professional voice mail – pay for the service if you have to. You don’t want to use an answering machine. It reeks of unprofessional.

Prospecting Tips #10) Pre-packaged sales materials – if you use materials that you mail out to your prospects, keep a supply handy, in mailing envelopes ready to be addressed, stamped and mailed as soon as you finish prospecting.

Prospecting Tips #11) Draft Emails – writing draft emails of correspondence you use often will save you a ton of time and even allow you to send a link to your prospect while you’re still on the phone with them.

Prospecting Tips #12) Key information sheet – this is a list of all of the information you might need to access at a glance such as upline and corporate contact information, website addresses, your distributor ID#, etc. – Put this on your cork board.

Prospecting Tips #13) Scripts – You never know when you’ll have a lapse in your memory.

Prospecting Tips #14) Timer – this will keep you from staying on the phone too long with someone who’s wasting your time. After 5 minutes, as yourself “is this a good prospect?”

Prospecting Tips #15) Recorder – recording yourself on the phone will enable you to listen to yourself later and will aid in developing more effective telephone skills.

Prospecting Tips #16) A closed door environment – minimize the distractions and focus on your work

Prospecting Tips #17) Filing cabinet and file folders – to keep your records well organized and maximize your efficiency

Armed with these basic tools, you’ll be better prepared to slam it on the phones.

British & Aussie Media Hail New India & Dhoni

The English Media paid tributes to the superb performance of the Indians at
the Wankhede yesterday. “Masterly Dhoni brings joy to the whole of India “
read one of the several headlines of the English media. India beat SL by six
wickets to lift the WC, which they had won last in 1983.

The press was full of praise for the Indian skipper, M S Dhoni, who played a
great, matchwinning innings of 91 not out to take India home, while chasing
a stiff 275 in the WC Final.

“The epitome of new India dominated the match (World Cup final between India
and Sri Lanka),” ‘The Observer’ observed.

“Masterly Dhoni brings joy to the whole of India,” said ‘The Guardian’.

“Dhoni is young enough to lead India to the next World Cup when he will be
quite a rich man. Sachin Tendulkar could only contribute the briefest of
cameos in his home town, 18 in 14 balls,” said Vic Marks, the newspaper’s
writer on cricket.

“As for Muralitharan, initially he was treated with respect, but towards the
end Dhoni punched him through the covers with awesome power. By the
standards of old, Murali was bowling donkey drops and with his body
creaking, he could not muster any more venom.

“Towards the end he held out his hands in exasperation at the wet ball, at
the misfields, but the true cause of his despair was the realisation that he
was impotent to stem the Indian tide. Sangakkara did not even turn to him
when the position was dire,” he added.

“Justice Dhoni, India’s joy after toss row.” proclaimed The ‘News of the
World’ It said, “Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara was at the center of a
cheat row before India stormed to a thrilling six-wicket World Cup win.
“Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni ultimately smashed a huge six with 10
balls to spare to start the mother of all parties in the host country,” it
said.

The Indian victory is all sweeter, for it came without contributions from
their best performing two in this WC, Sachin and Sehwag. In the past, they
might have scored heavily, but the middle order played solidly in stands of
83, 109 and 54 not out.

“The way Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, M S Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh batted
showed a self-assurance that had not been so evident when collapsing against
England, South Africa and West Indies in the group stage.” ( They collapsed
because of the Powerplay, as they tried to hit the bowlers out of the ground
! ).

Martin Johnson wrote, in another write up in the same newspaper. “Nerveless
Dhoni puts his house in order.”

“India’s captain and his team take pressure in their stride on way to a
famous triumph. The hush when Sehwag was out to the second ball of the
innings was nothing compared to the one when Tendulkar failed to expedite
the script that had him winning the game single-handedly with his 100th
international hundred, and anyone watching at home must have thought they’d
accidentally sat down on the mute button,” he said.

“It must have been tough for Dhoni to watch, which is perhaps why he
promoted himself in the order. There was a job to do, and the captain
decided to do it. Mind you, it shouldn’t have been difficult to motivate
himself. It was partly through a burning desire to do it for Mother India,
but mostly a determination not to have to get the double-glazers in,” he
added.

The Englishmen are in for a treat as India tours England. “India are due to
tour to play four Tests and five one-day internationals and the teams then
meet for five ODIs and three Twenty20s in India later in the year.”

The ‘Sunday Telegraph’ said, “India owed their second World Cup to their
magnificent batsmen. Their two finest – Sachin Tendulkar and Virender
Sehwag – did not score 20 between them, yet the remaining Indian batsmen
knocked off the runs with six wickets and ten balls to spare in the highest
successful run-chase that any of the ten cup finals has seen.”

The report said, “the weight of expectation on India was enormous – from the
outset of this tournament they have been the favourites – but they followed
the example of their captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in withstanding it. If
Brazil win a football World Cup at home, they will have a small and silent
fan-base compared to the Indian cricket team last evening and their 1.2
billion home supporters.”

“India are worhty world champions’ declared the Aus media.

Dhoni’s leadership and his magnificent performance in the WC final stole the
limelight from iconic batsman Sachin Tendulkar !

“India defies history to win the WC in 28 years” said the Australian.

“Tthough it was not a fairytale finish but nonetheless India were the
deserved world champions. It was about two great South Asian teams giving
fans a thrilling, edge-of-the-seat one day final and a deserved triumph for
a cricketing nation which felt its time had come.It wasn’t a fairytale
finish but for Mumbai and a nation still licking its wounds, it was more
than enough,” the ‘Australian’ averred.

“Tendulkar might have been the name on everyone’s lips but if ever there was
a sign that the Indian team has moved beyond its one-man juggernaut,
Saturday night’s gritty victory was it.

“The team showed determination and discipline that surprised even the most
nationalist fans to snatch a victory every man in the team then dedicated to
their diminutive teammate playing in his sixth and final World Cup,” it
said.

“The win bore little resemblance to the fairytale finish the Mumbai crowd
had been hoping for; one in which Sachin Tendulkar saw out his final World
Cup by hitting his hundredth century before his home town crowd.”

Dhoni was described as an all conquering captain, who now rivalled Sachin in
popularity.

“The 29-year-old is already cricket’s top earner after signing a record
two-year, $ 42 million contract last year to endorse whatever product
comes his way, and after Saturday night’s remarkable home-ground win against
Sri Lanka, his marketability knows no bounds.

“With neither the Brahminical poise of hero-worshipped Sachin Tendulkar, the
joviality of Shahid Afridi, or the worldly eloquence of Kumar Sangakkara,
Dhoni is nonetheless the face of a new, harder-edged Indian team.

“It was Dhoni’s innings of 91 not out, and his final game-winning six, that
made him the man of the match and sent a 33,000-capacity crowd at the
Wankhede Stadium into a frenzy,” the newspaper said.

Highly experienced cricket writer, Peter Roebuck, writing for ‘Sydney
Morning Herald’
praised Dhoni for his bold leadership.

“The day belonged to Dhoni. Like Jayawardene, his form had been scratchy but
he was able to put that behind him.

‘Bold captain Dhoni India’s hero of the day’. was Roebuck’ headline in which
he wrote “Indeed he dared to push himself up the order”

“In the critical hour and despite modest returns, Dhoni dared to back
himself. That is leading from the front. Even in the toughest times, too, he
managed to convey composure.

Throughout, his players felt their captain remained on the bridge and the
situation was under control.

“Exuberant celebrations began the moment Dhoni clouted a drive into the
stands. It was a fitting end to an unexpectedly successful and mostly clean
tournament. Appropriately, the final was a superb contest full of twists and
turns and dominated not by power but by skill and temperament.

“No home side had won a World Cup before but India did not blink. Overall it
was a happy and entertaining occasion … It was a fine World Cup, the best
for 25 years.”

( The first ball of this WC was hit for a four by Sehwag and the last ball
was hit for a six by Dhoni. This speaks volumes of Indian batting. Just
imagine, a centurion, Y Pathan, has to sit out, because there is no slot for
him in the Indian batting line up ! Imran used two words to define Indian
batting – formidable and impregnable! ).

5 Tips To Effective Newsletter Article Writing

Forums can provide great ideas and content that will eventually ease your newsletter writing.

Ezines. Article directories are content treasures. You can browse the articles available for your niche and make good use of them. But it is advisable to do some editing and rewriting to customize the articles for your own purposes.

Competitors. Your competitors are your best source for ideas and inspiration. Check their blogs often, or better off, subscribe to their RSS feeds. You may also wish to subscribe to their newsletters so that you can see what quality they are offering their subscribers.

These practices will keep you ahead of the competition and set your newsletter for success.

Write The Newsletter

Now it’s time for actually writing the newsletter. Don’t fret! No sophisticated writing skills are required. Write the way you speak, try to make it personal, use your tone of voice.

What you are trying to do here is communicate information, not showing off how eloquent you are. So try to make it simple and straightforward. Web surfers are not looking for eloquency, they are information seekers. You can make your newsletter a smash by just sticking to the basics of newsletter writing.

To your newsletter writing success

You have written your newsletter and formatted it ready to send out via email. Now you have a number of newsletter distribution options available to suit your mailing list size, your budget and your technical expertise.

Your Email Client

If you only have a handful of recipients then it is probably best to send your newsletter using your regular email client such as Outlook or Thunderbird. This has the advantage of being cheap and efficient as you already own the software and know how to use it.

However, if you decide to send out the same message to more than one recipient be sure to paste the other email addresses into the BCC field. This will ensure that each recipient receives your newsletter addressed to them. Avoid using the regular CC field as it will list all your other recipients in the email and looks amateurish.

Mailing List Scripts

If you have the experience and time to install your own scripts and your email list is starting to grow then consider installing a mailing list script such as PHPList on your own web server. It handles all the subscribers for you, freeing you to get on with more important things such as creating your next newsletter masterpiece.

While the script itself is free, you have to factor in the time it will cost you to maintain and upgrade the system. Another point worth considering is that many shared web hosts will throttle (limit) the number of emails you can send per hour. So if you are only allowed to send five hundred emails per hour and you have a list of ten thousand it is going to take at least twenty hours to get your newsletter delivered. Bear this in mind if your offers are time sensitive.

Email Services

While using a dedicated email service such as Aweber or Getresponse is the most expensive of the three options it is also by far the most flexible. With a service provider you get to store up a series of emails in an autoresponder sequence that will be sent out automatically at a set time or interval.

Eight Tips For Beginning And Maintaining A Successful Online Forum

Nothing promotes a business online better than staying in touch with prospects. The additional interactive the continued contact, the additional of a relationship that’s designed with a potential client.

This business principle of continued contact and business relationship building has given rise to the recognition of on-line business forums, and after all, “theme-connected” on-line forums. On-line forums quickly establish empathy, set forum homeowners up as “experts” within the eyes of guests, and serve as a promotional vehicle for different products and services that forum owners look for to sell.

Whereas online forums are in style and the proper methodology of relationship building, beginning a forum and maintaining one can be challenging, especially in the beginning when members can be “few” and “far between”. The challenge for many new forum owners is to induce beyond the initial start up section and move onto a phase where the forum members themselves promote the forum simply by posting.

Though each forum is individual and private, some general pointers ought to be followed or a minimum of kept in mind when beginning and maintaining an online forum. These are as follows:

1. Take care when choosing the sort of forum and forum script or software that will be used. The forum should be easy to access, easy to use, and come with “visitor- friendly” features. All visitors should be created to feel welcomed and notice the navigability of the forum, user friendly. Forum scripts and software, especially “free” varieties, might be overburdened with ads from the parent company and cause a poor expertise for visitors.

2. The forum should have a good number of attention-grabbing and centered topics. The content ought to mirror the interests of the target audience, and each care should be made to have well-written and informative content that’s updated regularly. This not solely helps attract new members, it keeps older members from losing interest and defecting to other forums.

3. The forum should be Search Engine friendly. High activity forums, like widespread blogs, provide a great reason for Search Engines to go to them frequently as they’re brimming with fresh content all the while. Dynamic urls, session ids, etc. used by most forum software will be very detrimental to the forum health from Search Engine purpose of view.

When selecting a forum software, check if they’re Search Engine friendly. Open supply software like phpbb, have mods (modifications) developed by third party sources, to boost the forum in many ways.

4. The forum desires to have a transparent list of rules, a disclaimer, and most of all, sensible solid moderation. Visitors can quickly become frustrated with forums that have no clear tips, or feature rude, obnoxious, or overbearing members. Good manners are required as much on-line as offline.

5. Promotion, particularly in the first days, will take considerable time and effort. Forums will be difficult to start out (members typically are “shy” when there are only some present), and the more posts that happen, the additional individuals will join. This is often a “snowball” result of forums, so marketing must be done consistently, day in and day out, until the forum becomes more self-sustaining.

6. The owner of the forum ought to take a vigorous interest within the forum and SHOW this interest by contributing regularly. On top of all else, individuals be part of forums where they feel they will learn from the owner of the forum, and if the owner is rarely present, they quickly lose interest within the forum.

7. The forum should be targeted, however numerous, encouraging older members to contribute, while not making newer members feel uncomfortable. Cliques will kind in forums, and this type of behavior ought to be discouraged by the owner and moderators. Every effort should be made to answer questions or comments by all members as quickly and completely as possible.

8. As with all other Web connected ventures, care needs to be given as to hosting and maintenance of the forum. A forum that’s forever experiencing “downtime”, will lose members quickly, and a forum that has many coding mistakes will quickly frustrate visitors. Like Web sites, “cheap” suppliers of hosting and maintenance don’t seem to be forever “better”.

All in all, on-line forums will be a great approach to come up with income, develop a smart reputation among clients, and give entertainment and instruction for many individuals. Like with everything else, but, they take promoting savvy, and a great deal of time and a spotlight to detail. The previous saying, “You merely reap what you sow” really applies to the world of on-line forums.

10 Tips To Better Marketing Videos

One of the coolest things about having the internet as a marketing tool is being able to have thousands of people see a video of you! For me, this has proven to be one of the most effective strategies in my business. Videos set you apart from others and is probably the best way for your customers to get a feel for who you are.

A video also gets your message across much more effectively than if someone were just reading your content. They can see your body language, your visual aids, your voice inflection, and your facial expressions. This makes what you’re trying to say stick in their head a lot longer than if they just read about it.

Here are a few tips for making effective videos:

1. Make sure the lighting is good. It is very distracting when someone makes a video and you cant see their face very well. Test to see how the lighting is before you make the perfect video and then have to redo it! Have the light on your face, not behind you. I also prefer natural light because I think it just looks better.

2. Add text to your videos. I like this because it helps highlight the important points and your prospects will remember what you want them to. Or while you’re talking write down on a whiteboard what you’re talking about because visual aids are amazing. Lots of people say they are impressed with my videos (even though I make them by putting the camera on my bookshelf)

You can do this with any movie editor, I use the free Windows Live Movie Maker and they make it easy to add moving text. I also highly recommend adding a title page and comments page to your video along with transitions in between. This makes your videos look more professional and you can add your contact info at the end!

3. Take the time to plan it out. Map out what you want to say, or youll end up repeating yourself and not saying much of value. You also don’t want to stumble over your words because that just looks bad haha!

4. Use your keyword in the title! Google will find it faster and rank you higher if you do this. Plus put a link in the description that takes the person back to some form of content like a blog post that has to do with what you’re talking about.

5. Dont film it in your car! I find this unbelievably annoying when people make videos while driving somewhere. They cant keep eye contact with the camera, the camera is shaking like crazy, and it gives the impression that they dont want to take the time to make a real video. I cant stand it! Plus they’ll probably make it illegal at some point like texting haha! Sometimes it might have something to do with what your video is about, like commuting or something. And if you just want to show your car off, uh the outside is probably much cooler to look at.

6. Pretend like your talking to a friend. This works for your script because you should talk to your prospects like friends. It will also help you with your composure. Many people get nervous in front of a camera, so just pretend like youre talking to your best friend!

7. Keep it short and sweet! Unless you are fantastically amazing at keeping people’s attention, your videos should be no longer than 5 minutes. Remember this is the ADD generation and we get bored very fast and easily.

8. Make a clear call to action! If you are making a video that has to do with promoting a product, then you better be telling people what they need to do. Don’t just talk about the product and say thanks for listening. Tell them to click on the link and take a closer look. People need to be told what to do! (Those aren’t exactly the people you want on your team, but they are the ones you want to make a commission off of :) …)

9. One good way to generate leads with your video that many overlook is to post your video on YouTube and then use an article submitter to send backlinks to your video! Videos, especially on YouTube, tend to rank well on Google, but they also have the tendency to lose their ranking very quickly. Solve this by writing an article about your video, and then send it out with your article submitter! Obviously there are a million ways to get leads with videos, but I feel that many people dont take advantage of that one.

I love having my own videos on all my capture pages, because my prospects get to know me better. When I call them, without fail, they already know who I am! I never have to explain why Im calling them or explain to them my credentials. Use these tips to make better videos, and in the process, get better leads as well.

Audition Tips – Get The Role!

Understand The Principles Of Hard Work

The most important thing to remember when auditioning for any role is that only one person will get it. That one person could be you. If you are lazy and don’t understand the principles of competition and hard work, don’t expect miracles. You can never wing an audition. If you do you will most certainly end up in the 99% of actors who don’t book. The Actor must approach acting like an Olympic Athlete, the more you practice the necessary skills the more you will book. When a high level of discipline and concentration on the work is achieved, you will see incredible results.

Research All Projects

It’s important to research the credits of the creator, producer and director. If you understand the genre, tone and style of the show or film, your chances of booking will greatly increase.
Know The Location Of The AuditionKnow exactly where you are going? Map it out the night before. You can also drive to it and scope out the parking situation. I’m sure you know that Los Angeles traffic and parking is a bear. Start out at least an hour earlier than you think is necessary.

Do Not Judge The Material

If you negatively judge your script, cancel the audition. You’re never going to get inside or understand the material because you’re too busy in your head making comments on it. You will never book that way. You need to accept that you are simply a clean vessel of pure emotion lending yourself to the material to channel the character from the writer’s intent. If you want to be more than that, think about directing or writing. I would rather you look at the material from the writer’s perspective rather than a directors. At least, then you’ll understand why the writer wrote the character the way they did.

Respect The Writing

Read the material at least 10 times as if it were a novel. Understand the points of view of each character in the scene. You’ll never understand the story or be in the scene if you make-up choices that are not suggested in the script about where the characters are coming from. The writer’s intention always comes first. Read it exactly as written. What you read is the truth. If the character says that they hate the other person, then they hate the other person in that moment. Unless there’s a parenthetical suggesting otherwise, don’t make anything up just to impress them or to make it comfortable for you. Believe me, making “choices” is the biggest mistake an actor can make. The writer makes the choices for you. You want the writer in the room to say: “That actor read it exactly as I wrote it. That’s the character!”

Know Your Role

Understand why your part is in the script then you’ll know who you are and your place in the story. A lot of actors want so much to be remembered that they overshoot the audition by making their part too important. Unless you are the series lead or a major film star, you’re simply there to move the story along. Don’t try to be more important than the material in an attempt to impress. I.e., if you’re serving drinks in the scene, then you’re just a cocktail waitress. That’s it.

Waiting To Audition

In the office before going into the audition is when the actors “psych out” usually happens. Protect your audition by knowing how to handle yourself in the waiting area.
Stay focused and don’t look at anyone in the outer office. The moment that you catch someone’s eye, they will talk to you. Once you engage with another actor you lose focus on what you need to be doing for your own audition. Stay off the phone. Find out who is signed up to audition before you. Once that person goes into the casting office, wait outside the door. Never compare yourself to the other actors auditioning for the same role. If you’re the one that looks out of place, that could be a great sign. You might be the one who is “the other way to go.” Casting directors wouldn’t be doing their job if they brought in all the same types of people. They need to bring a range of actors to present to their producers, directors, writers and sometimes the stars. Don’t look around the outer office and cast someone else in your part. Don’t give them the part because you think they’re dressed or look better than you for the role. This is a massive psyche out. They could have called in hundreds of other actors for your role. You have been asked to audition for a reason. The casting director must have seen something in your picture and resume that was right for that part. Know that you have just as great a shot at booking it as anyone. Do a little cheer for yourself, psyche yourself up and go in there and get the job.

Go For It

Commit to your homework and go for it! If you don’t, someone else will. Which would you prefer, hitting a 10+ read in the room or knocking it out of the ballpark in your car on the way home?

After The Audition

If you’re thinking about the audition for days afterwards and asking for feedback from your representatives, then you didn’t do enough preparation. You know when you’ve hit it. You know when you’ve given your best. You don’t need approval or feedback from anyone else about how you did. You know. Be honest with yourself. If you realize you didn’t hit it this time, make sure you do the work and preparation to hit it the next time and every time.
