Hi. I’m almost 15 and I’ve been an agnostic since I was 12, but recently I’ve done a lot of thinking and realized that I’m an atheist. My family is Catholic and I had no problem pretending for a few years, but recently it’s really begun to wear me down. I don’t want to hide who I am anymore. They want me to be confirmed, and while I’m willing to participate in the meaningless ceremony, i want them to know that I don’t believe.

I’ve asked this before and people said not to tell them, that they might cut me off financially or kick me out. Well, I’ve tried to get a feel about how they view atheists. It seems my dad doesn’t mind them at all… he’s not very devout. My mother is more religious, but she told me she feels sorry for them because they must have depressing lives. She went on to say that life has no meaning without religion, and that while most atheists were good people, they really couldn’t enjoy being alive. Of course this is false. I love life. Anyway, she also said she doesn’t think it’s right that Christianity is imposed upon Americans with the ten commandments in the supreme court, “in god we trust’ in our currency, etc. Both of my parents really do love me and wouldn’t hurt me physically or emotionally if I told them. I’m afraid they would just be a little disappointed in me for a few weeks.

So, how do I breach the subject? Do I just say it bluntly or do I drop little hints? Could you write me a sample script?

P.S. I haven’t made my aversion to organized religion a secret, but thy seem to think I just don’t like going to church.
Every time I ask this people tell me not to tell them, but honestly I don’t want to hold it in any longer. am not asking for advice on whether I should tell them. I’m asking HOW to tell them. so can you all just answer my question and stop giving your insight on whether I should tell?

Hey there, I am an aspiring filmmaker. I have written a script, casted people for my roles, got equipment and am in the process of scouting out locations to shoot.

A few of my scenes are in bars and nightclubs and in the general public and on the streets. Does anyone know the best way of doing this? by that I mean should I go to the establishments I want to shoot and obtain permission by an owner? should I get them to sign something? And for shooting a film in general, do I need a permit or something from the city? I heard I do. Then what if someone walks by the camera, or their face is shown clearly in the camera? can they sue me or something? Do I need release forms signed by everyone? Then another question is that what if someones Licence plate number is shown in the film, like a random passer-by’er. I would like to take this film on the festival circut but I am unsure of how to get around the problems I have. I do not have anymore money to spend either as I already put lots in.

When i was little i was confident and i was wanting to be a singer but for now i’ve just started a script writing course on line,anyway as i said in a couple of other questions or whatever i said, i have no confidence at all since i was badly bullied/picked on….from when i started high school until i left high school..anyway does anybody know how i can get my confidence back cause i kinda wanting to start singing again.I know some people will say go to clubs for a karaoke but with the way things are in my town they don’t stay open for long cause everything gets destroyed by gangs.The only way i can describe my town is, it’s a Shit Hole.(there’s hardly anything here).
Does anybody have any tips or whatever on how i can get my confidence back?
I’ve tried making new friends but nobody wants to know me…people are always talking and treating me like crap,they go by the way i look….I’m not a goth,they make weird comments..just because i like rock music and i like wearing black combats and hoodies,….So can anyone give me any tips how i can get my confidence back?

I’ve found that the way to charisma is using a lot of emotion. You can gain a lot of friends and make a lot of people inspired with a properly phrased story, but misphrase the story and you’ll find yourself to be the only one conscious at the end of it. What’s the way to tell a really interesting, engaging story?

I wrote on my facebook that I’ve sent in my script to a company.
Of 8 comments: 1 one of them was a Good Luck,
3 of them told me to be strong when I get a No.
And the rest of them told me about their own scripts.
I got questions about which company I’ve sent it to, and it didn’t feel like it was some kind “I’m your friend and just going to check out this company for you” it was more like “I’m to lazy to find a company to send my script to, I steal yours.” and I really regret telling anyone..
Some people want to read my script as well, but they haven’t showed any interest in my writing before so it doesn’t feel right to suddenly give in to them. I’ve given maybe two of them a copy before but they always just read the first paper and then just put it aside, saying it sounded “childish” or that it wasn’t in their “taste”.

So anyway – I got accepted 3 days ago! And the company are going to make my story to a book. I’m going to be a writer, you guys! My dream from my childhood is finally coming true. My parents, sister and brother was happy for me. I wanted to tell my friends (by internet) but when I thought about it -everyone were working on their own book, didn’t really care about mine and are almost counting on me to fail, so I wasn’t sure to even tell.

I decided to tell my boyfriend while we were talking on the phone. He got really surprised but congratulated me anyways. He joked and said he was really jealous – him also working on a book.

The next day, he acted all weird. He said he was working with his book (his paus seemed to be over) and asked me all this weird questions about what I thought about his story (charpters name, characters.. He usually ask my bestfriend about these things instead, but now he wanted my opinion), and about the company and other stuff. He told me not to share the companys name with people, but to late.. And oh! He suddenly changed one of the characters in his story to MY name. I said I didn’t feel comfortable about it, we fought and he changed it.

I told my best friend about this, that I was scared and insecure about this jealousy he showed about me sending my script (I haven’t told her I got accepted). He had never acted this way before. She went a little angry with me. I think she took it like I was all thinking about myself because I’ve collected confidence to send the script, and said she supported his writing. Which made me realize – she and my boyfriend always talk about writing-stuff on MSN. She had shown him her secret blog without telling me anything. They were pals and I would be careful with what I told her, because he would know too.

Um.. As I said, I haven’t told her that the company accepted my script yet. She’s my best friend and I really want to tell her. She would do the same to me. But I’m afraid she will go mad at me like my boyfriend and start acting weird too. Everytime I feel under a conversation with her that I’m about to tell her, my stomach hurts of nervousness and I just can’t.

This is what I need help with:
How do I lose this nervous feeling and tell my best friend that I got accepted?
How do I handle my boyfriends scary behavior? Will it go away?
And why couldn’t my friends on facebook see that I needed their support?
And why are they so curious about me all of sudden?

I’m not going to write on internet that I got accepted before I’ve got 100% clear sign from the company. So telling my non-close friends is going to wait..
But I’m really sad and down these days and I can’t stand it.
Why do I have to suffer for taking the step my friends couldn’t? I grew up with this dream and I just can’t cancel it when I’ve gone so far, just because I’m afraid my friends will go mad.

As stated before I have a friend who was a mentor and who is much older than I am and had always told me to come to her with my issues no matter what they were. I was very vulnerable and did and told her my deepest and darkest secrets and she would respond. I have heard that she was a dishonest person and never really liked me anyway and was using me for whatever reason. Then, she told me she would not speak to me on the telephone nor respond to my emails. I thought that the reason that she cut me off for was unfair- especially when she did some of the things as well and asked for forgiveness and got it, but then would not give it to me. So anyway, I think she marketed on the fact that I was relentless in my attempts for her to see that how she was treating me was unfair, with me writing her emails a whole lot about it- sometimes angry, sometimes trying to be understanding and blaming myself, but always confused. Could it be possible that I was used from the beginning? Is there a way for me to flip the script on her? She got me used to coming to her regardless of anything that I was saying and regardless of any mood that I was in——–she put up with it all, but people are saying she may have capitalized on my vulnerability to use for later?
