How do you write a movie script? CAN ANYONE TEACH ME HOW TO WRITE A SCRIPT?

Script Writing Tips
Soph Soph the Soap Master. asked:

I have the idea for it. I have no idea how to format it.
I live in SO-CAL, btw.
If you can give me general tips on the format, plot, etc. I’d really appreciate it.
Also, once I finish it, what the heck do I do with it?

What do you guys have to say for a movie script that is in writing, based on a popular tv show from the 80′s?

Script Writing secrets
raaj22 asked:

I am talking about the one and only, MacGyver! You got that right! New Line Cinema is writing a movies script based on the famous show that ran from 1985 to 1992. My favorite tv show from that era. What did you think about the show and the fact they are making a movie? So far we don’t know who will be playing the famous secret agent, MacGyver, from the Phoenix Foundation.

How do you write a movie/film script (or structure)?

movies and film
Will asked:

I have a assignment to write a movie script (of a book, 1 chapter), but I don’t know what the structure is.
It was originally a playscript we had to write, but my teacher for some reason changed it, no i don’t have a clue.

What does, or how does, a structure look or made? (explanations and examples would be great)

Script Writing Tips
biggestthingsinceslicedbread asked:

So, I have already written a full length movie script that I want to turn into a musical. I was wondering about the whole “fitting the songs in there” and how many songs should there be? Any tips would be wonderful! Thank you.
Thank you for the previous tips but I want to know if there is a formula of some sort. I know there is with wwriting movies and I was wondering if there was one with musicals. Maybe where the songs should be placed etc.

Tips and suggestions for a getting a tv show/movie script noticed?

Script Writing Tips
Checkers- the -Wolf asked:

I read the book ‘screenwriting for dummies’ last year which offered a lot of good tips and information. Anyway I’ve got 2 scripts I’m working on, one is the pilot episode for a series which is a cartoon/sitcom crossover, in short, it’s an animated sitcom and the other is for an animated feature film. Most of the main and supporting characters in both scripts are animals, they can ‘talk’ but it sounds like barks, meows, etc… to humans.

Anyway I plan to finish both scripts and register them with the writers guild in L.A. but besides sending it/presenting them to a studio like Disney(the studio I want to pitch them to) I’ve read about getting directors and/or even actors/actresses to help out.

Any suggestions on how to get a script to a director or actor/actress?

My sister has said there are actors/actresses who don’t have publicists, I’ve also heard of people who have pitched to studios without agents. From what I’ve heard Tyler Perry did it and the people at Lionsgate called him!

But anyway I have a list of episodes for my series and a notebook where I’ve been writing down my characters such as name, gender, age and so on. As for anything else I need to do before sending my stuff off to a studio I’ll cross that bridge once I get to it.

Things I need to know about writing a script for a movie?

Script Writing Tips
courtneee! asked:

I know this probably sounds dumb, but I really want to write a script for a movie. One idea I have I cannot get it out of my head. The only thing is, I was wondering who I would send it to, how would i send it to him/her and can people who haven’t been to collage or started high school yet write a movie?

I’m 14 years old. I know some websites that let ages 13-18 try out for contests on stories and possibly have it published and out in bookstores, but I really want to write a movie script and have it become a movie.

So any help/ideas/tips are welcome!
Thank you.
