writers look here?

Script Writing Tips
chenaniah88 asked:

hey! so im a novice writer, hoping to go to college to become a novelist, or a simple writer. I’ve written several stories but my computer has crashed a few times and i’ve lost them. Being discouraged it’s hard for me to come up with ideas to write about. Any tips on how to get a good story rolling? oh and also how to name characters? I’m posting this in Theatre because i love to write scripts and playwrites

How many total movies have been shot in New York City?

movies and film
Hist-Nerd1 asked:

I just saw Cloverfield (filmed on location in NYC) and got me to thinking that there must be ALOT of movies filmed there. I also figured this would be a TOUGH trivia question to answer.
Sources please!

Where to buy fake snow that looks realistic on movie film?

movies and film
Doctor Who asked:

Not sure if this would be the same type of snow you’d use in your backyard, or if there’s a “trade secret” in Hollywood for faking snow.

Any ideas or suggestions? ThinkGeek.com has some http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/science/79ea/ but it looks cheap and I’m not sure how realistic it looks.
By the way–I don’t need very much. maybe just a large table. It’s just for a quick close up of something sitting in the snow, with snow falling/blowing.
