I need helpful ideas/tips on becoming a good story-teller, a script writer, a screewriter?

Script Writing Tips
quilm asked:

I used to be into business before, but over the last 1 year have become something of a writer. But, my writing severely lacks creativity because of the technical nature of my brain.

Still, it’s a great desire in me to see myself as a successful screenwriter in Hollywood someday in future. So, I need to start over from the basics, the ABC’s of good story-telling that is crucial ingredient in developing this skill further. Time is not a constraint as I am willing to dedicate months and even a few years to sharpen this skill. I just need some helpful tips on how to get started at all.

All those of you who give some valuable instructions and hints today, I would definitely remember you all in my Academy Awards acceptance speech, lol..any useful website links would also do.

Script writing and storytelling requires an out-of-the-box imagination, and an ability to flesh out characters, and “breathe” life into them. GREAT TIPS: but how does that translate for a novice like me.

Elizabeth P asked:

I know an agent helps, but there is no way of me getting one, so how do I find out when and where auditions for movies, films, t.v., etc.. are?
I have already tried google, but maybe I have been searching for the wrong thing?
I am in need of some advice.

i’m getting my first tattoo in a few weeks, any advice?

EmSmith* asked:

well, i haven’t 100% decided what i want yet (either some delicate script written off-center on my lower back, or some stars on my hip bone) so i obviously must take care of that haha.

anyhow, the place is very nice, i was even there when i friend got hers done and it looks wonderful. any advice on what to do or ask? tips on design or placement? aftercare?

thanks!
sorry i disagree, with tattoos there is not classic, just cliched.

and yes i will be absolutely sure of what i want before i get inked :)

What is the story behind pierrot and harlequin?

Story & Character Development
DT asked:

Forgive me for my spelling, please.
i was reading a book and they made a somewhat vague reference to Pierrot and Harlequin, and I tried looking up their story but i couldn’t find anything.
I know that Pierrot was a melancholy and innocent character, and Harlequin was a tricky acrobat, but what is the relation between the two characters?
what stories are they from, and is there any more information you can give me on them?
Thank you!

What age is it when someone turns into old man story telling mode, constant nonstop storys?

Story & Character Development
meiguoren86 asked:

I think its funny when old people tell their life story to anyone who will listen. For example my super old professor who sits and tells stories/ has brief random micro naps all class.

Like my dad is almost 60 but he hasn’t reached story telling mode yet, what age does it kick in.

How do you introduce superheroes in a story that doesn’t usually involve superheroes?

Story & Character Development
Jason G. asked:

How do you introduce superheroes in a story that doesn’t usually involve superheroes?
I have some stories about streetfighting characters, and I want to include stories in which the heroes turn into superheroes when things are getting too rough and dangerous. How would I make that fit?

I want to give the characters experimental serums they use and hen switch into their costumes, but it’s only temporary.
